I'm already experimenting a little, but I don't like the way this map turned out. For one thing, I accidentally put the crosshatching around the entry door to this dungeon. I thought it would be a good idea if I just created a crosshatching pattern that I could insert digitally as a background. As you can see, it's taking some time.

There are two patterns, one with the cross hatching and one with pebbles that I use to overlay the cross hatching. In photoshop it means that you need to make the inside of the pebbles white (select the pebbles and erase the selected area on the crosshatch layer); in GIMP, you can use patterns with colors and have the white area white from the start).
